Division is all about sharing equally. Students love to act out division using sweet treats! In this lesson, third graders were developing their knowledge of division concepts. They used math vocabulary: dividend, divisor and quotient as they divided the gummi bears equally amongst their classmates. They used white boards to write the division equations and to show how they solved their division problems. They were drawing out the models of division as equal groups and were using repeated subtraction to to find the quotients. Still others used their knowledge of the related multiplication facts. It was a yummy way to explore division concepts!
